Being overwhelmed is not a bad thing...your problem is not that you feel it; it's that you stop, slow up, and tap out. Overwhelm is like that burn in your chest when running on the treadmill....it's good for you. Keep going.

Why are you always looking for compliments? Half the sh*t you hear is not true, and is meant to flatter you or distract you. Let's have a clear eye, and remember that we are not sh*t. That's right... You ain't sh*t. And thats ok. None of us are. Let's get joy from learning, growth and evolution. All of this is facilitated by consistent exposure to reality. Too many compliments clog up your system and cloud your vision.

The type of learning you need shouldn't leave you feeling refreshed.... you need a punch to the gut. Learning should be painful, and cause you to refine your beliefs, expose you to reality, and challenge you. All of these things are painful.

This is what we need to aspire to be, instead of imagining you're going to be like Superman.... Life will frequently treat you like Bane did Batman, but we have to be resilient, and keep fighting. No matter what.

Most people walk around with a warped idea of who they are...they are what their mom and dad said they are...what church said...what teachers said...and now you're a walking contradiction, full of ideas from everyone, except yourself. You need to now DECIDE who you are going to be, and get to work creating that reality. Thats what they don't tell you...you're a builder, you're a creator. You can be whoever you want.

When life whoops your ass a few times, you'll want to go crying to mommy and daddy looking for sympathy. You'll want to call friends and family, to get their tears for sympathy...This will taste good, but will provide you NO nutritional value. It does nothing for you. You must force yourself to be alone, to be calm, to refuse sympathy in times of crisis. Instead, train yourself to be practical, to be rational, and to solve problems. This is what will lead to the feeling of growth and evolution. This feeling tastes good.

It's tempting to go after the "breakthrough". It's tempting to swing for the fences. I'm not saying don't...You just have to be patient, and learn to take the singles. Take those 3-4 yard gains, and know that your breakthrough is on its way. Be patient.
