Life can be a little harsh and unforgiving at times, and during these times, we tend to feel helpless. But you don't need more sympathy; you need clarity. You have a lot more control than you think. Create a new goal, clarify your mission and create a plan. And work the plan. You'll get where you need to go. You have power. You have control.
If you approach your work with lethargic energy and have trouble getting focused, you're not reminding yourself of the BIG picture...
Being overwhelmed is not a bad thing...your problem is not that you feel it; it's that you stop, slow up, and tap out. Overwhelm is like that burn in your chest when running on the treadmill....it's good for you. Keep going.
Why are you always looking for compliments? Half the stuff you hear is not true, and is meant to flatter you or distract you. Let's have a clear eye, and remember that we are not jack. That's right... You ain't it. And thats ok. None of us are. Let's get joy from learning, growth and evolution. All of this is facilitated by consistent exposure to reality. Too many compliments clog up your system and cloud your vision.
The type of learning you need shouldn't leave you feeling refreshed.... you need a punch to the gut. Learning should be painful, and cause you to refine your beliefs, expose you to reality, and challenge you. All of these things are painful.
It's the 4th quarter, and you're behind. You still have an entire quarter left, so don't forfeit the game... go all out.
Batman has no superpowers and frequently gets his butt kicked. But Batman is fearless, persistent and built like iron. This is what we need to aspire to be, instead of imagining you're going to be like Superman.... Life will frequently treat you like Bane did Batman, but we have to be resilient, and keep fighting. No matter what.
Most people lower their goals and expectations once they "fail". This is foolish. The goal is not your problem, you are. So step ya game up, and watch your confidence soar.
Most people walk around with a warped idea of who they are...they are what their mom and dad said they are...what church said...what teachers said...and now you're a walking contradiction, full of ideas from everyone, except yourself. You need to now DECIDE who you are going to be, and get to work creating that reality. Thats what they don't tell you...you're a builder, you're a creator. You can be whoever you want.
When life whoops your butt a few times, you'll want to go crying to mommy and daddy looking for sympathy. You'll want to call friends and family, to get their tears for sympathy...This will taste good, but will provide you NO nutritional value. It does nothing for you. You must force yourself to be alone, to be calm, to refuse sympathy in times of crisis. Instead, train yourself to be practical, to be rational, and to solve problems. This is what will lead to the feeling of growth and evolution. This feeling tastes good.
It's tempting to go after the "breakthrough". It's tempting to swing for the fences. I'm not saying don't...You just have to be patient, and learn to take the singles. Take those 3-4 yard gains, and know that your breakthrough is on its way. Be patient.
Excuses will kill your progress. You can no longer be the person who refuses to take responsibility, because you're too busy reliving the pressure. Take on the pressure. Admit to your faults, see reality clearly, and you will grow faster. No more sabotaging yourself.
This is a throwback for my day one listeners, and a message to the hungry athletes/entrepreneurs out there.
Get Ya Mind Right!
Stop asking for help, ask for more courage and backbone. The tendency is to complain about what you don't have, how helpless you are and how alone you are when things aren’t going your way..this is the way of the child. Let's grow up, and take action in the direction of what we want instead of being a slave to circumstances.
You thought you would set a goal and feel like Superman? That's not how it works. If you set your goals right, they should make you feel like a 3 year old in a haunted house... You should be scared. This is your queue to build more mental muscle, and overcome your fears. That is the sole purpose of your goals. No need to be surprised by your fear. Embrace it, face it, and conquer it.
Nature doesn't respect those who depend on others...nature respects the self-reliant. This is a wakeup call for those of you who are so thirsty for approval that you sell your soul for a friend, a few likes, or a feeling of being accepted. Step ya game up.
Being random won't get you to the money...you must be systematic, poised and calculated.
I know the feeling of trying to accomplish results over and over, and still not seeing what you want... its frustrating. But if you persist, if you stay patient, you will see results. Sometimes its just about who shows up most often, most consistently, and with the right effort and attitude. Don’t give up.
Too many entrepreneurs running from the fundamentals...it's like a football player refusing to block or tackle. It's the mastery of the basics that leads to lasting results, and we have to be able to focus on them in a way that is foreign to the average person.
Your sense of urgency can be the things that will take your income and business results to the next level....Right now you're moving too slow, and you're lying to yourself. Move fast, be aggressive, and push yourself.
Kenyatta Griggs breaks down the keys to how to consistently call out and gain long lasting success.
Tupac's last words before he died are the inspiration behind this episode...Warning: I blacked out midway of recording this. Enjoy.
I'm tired of hearing about your mini-wins and baby accomplishments. Nobody cares. Focus on big stuff, and stop being thirsty for approval and acknowledgement. Reality check for all you soft MF's who love to be told "good job". You're welcome.
Most people can't stand being alone, in silence and without company... this can't be you. You must train yourself to be alone, to be comfortable with yourself...this is a prerequisite to mastery. It's your only hope.
How easy is it to say something vague like "don't compare yourself to anyone"? Easier said than done...it's kind of an instinct to compare...but instead of comparing yourself to any and everyone else, here is the real person you should be stacking yourself up against.
